This book is a collection of the experiences of a group of psychologists who have attempted to start up a Sports psychology programme in Football schools. It addresses the three categories of people who are fundamental for a young boy attending a Football School (5-12 years of age): parents, instructors and psychologists. For each of these categories there are thoughts and practical advice to achieve the objective of projects of this nature: make the Football School a good environment in which to grow well, where “to grow well” means two things, enjoyment and rules. To reach the objective “Football School and School of Life” there are various matters to be faced, that are very useful for parents, instructors and psychologists. For example, for parents there is a “Questionnaire on the ethics code of parents”; for instructors there is a card for “Observations at individual training sessions”, “Observations on training sessions at end of a two-month term”, “Internal Regulations for instructors”, “Ethics Code of football trainers”; for psychologists the “Programme for a “Fair Play” Project”, a “Questionnaire on motivation and sport”, a “Questionnaire on enjoyment and rules” (from age eight upwards). “Football School and School of Life” is a resource that aims at allowing young boys to grow in a healthy way.
