This book is first of all a small contribution to the fight against organised crime , therefore an initial, small step towards the hoped-for creation of a police specialisation: the criminal Profiler. The fight against crime can no longer be based only the investigator’s hard work, tiring and time-consuming and often ungratifying as this is. It requires new input, a combination of artificial and human intelligence work that can offer the investigator something more, something that will allow him to work better, more effectively, aware of his own capabilities and the resources available to him. This is a tribute to a school, Europol, that is still a point of reference, but also to those in charge of organising initial courses in criminal analysis who care deeply about their work and do it with the utmost professionalism.
