Descrizione

The European Police Office Europol supports the strengthening the work of the EU Police Forces and their mutual cooperation, to prevent and combat organised crime, terrorism and other forms of serious crime affecting two or more other Member States, in a global context where organised criminal groups are characterised by increasing transnationality and aggression, with the ability to extend their business in numerous financial situations. The contrast to these criminal phenomena makes it vital to support international police cooperation and, for this reason, Europol is gradually turning into the nerve centre of criminal information of the European Union, able to offer a unique service to the authorities responsible for the application of the law in Europe. The ability to identify the most significant activities of criminal networks in every part of the continent, to obtain the most news and information from all the Member States and other cooperation partners, permits an overall view of criminal phenomena in the EU which is made available to investigators in Member States. This book is a collection and analysis, in an original synthesis, of the main legislation and national and European official reports concerning Europol, in order to increase the knowledge thereof and, at the same time, provide a practical reference guide to practitioners wishing to make use this channel of cooperation.
