Starting from a preliminary analysis of the concept of rapid response, the work outlines the changes in military instruments available to NATO and EU rapid deployment, to face and manage crisis situations. A short historical background allows you to trace the main stages of the two international organisations, focusing, then, features and conditions of use of the NATO Response Force and the EU Battle Groups, highlighting similarities and differences, not to mention the specific contribution provided by Italy.
