Diagnosis is the process at the basis of any treatment, which is more effective if symptomatic diagnosis is joined by a diagnosis of personality. Understanding the problem is not enough, we also need to understand the person with problems. This is the first objective of the book: to offer an integration of perspectives and methods in order to facilitate the diagnosis of the personality style (and disorder). Understanding the problem personality lies at the basis of solving a personality disorder which inevitably has repercussions on the person’s relationships. The second objective begins with the need to formulate at least two types of diagnoses: one categorical, especially in psycho-juridical applications and research, and one dimensional for application in psychotherapy. This book aims at giving a small contribution to the integration of various diagnostic criteria and therefore integrated psychotherapy
